Look at this cake! Unbelievable chocolaty goodness is what that is. I am not in the right frame of mind to really write much now, but I wanted to share my cake. and the main course.

We had people over. We had frozen strawberry daiquiris per my request. We had sausages. We had a couple of appetizers. I got an awesome painting of a bird from my painting instructor and a sculpture from a friend who is leaving to move back to Italy probably for good. Lots of bottles of wine and really good company.
I would say something sappy right now about how I wish I could have shared this good time with the people I have known for so long, but that would be sappy and silly. Plus, I am really lucky to have been here less than a year and already have people I want to spend time with on my birthday. Some decent folks here amidst all the weirdo freaks who are all weird and freakish.
I have some more photos to share, but I need to get my thoughts together for them.

Well, I really don't have anything witty or poignant to say, but gosh golly happy birthday, and I really wish I could have been there! I am happy though, that we are still in touch so that I am at least able to wish you a happy birthday at all!
Thanks, I too feel good that we are still in touch, nay, tis more than that, it is a life long friendship produced from one simple chance meeting outside a classroom in a hallway where the dorkiest remark a person could ever make to another was uttered.
